About

Williamson Farms became a century farm in 2006. Our home farm was purchased by James Williamson in late December 1905, finalized in January 1906. It was a mixed operation, with some cattle, a few dairy cows, and the fruit orchard. It was passed to George and his wife Lavinia, then onto James and his wife, Vera who had four children, Ronald, Diane, Marian and Allan.

Ron purchased the farm from his mother in 1977, married Phyllis in 1989, and they have three children, Blair, Ashley and Carrie. Phyllis currently lives at the farm with the children and is a partner in the Williamson Farms business with Allan. Allan and his wife Chris, live next door to the west of the home farm operation. They have 3 daughters, Niccole, Jill and Gwen. You can see some of them helping with the events on the farm. As the managing partner of Williamson Farms, Allan is responsible for the farm crops and livestock. We grow in rotation, food grade soybeans, wheat and corn. We raise the beef cattle, hogs and chickens with our own farm grown corn.

Phyllis works in the on farm store where you will see her most days. She knows the regular customers by name and is happy to introduce new customers to our farm grown produce. Chris is found working on the farm, in the office or store, or at the local Farmer’s Markets. We set up booths at the Grand Bend Farmer’s Markets on Wednesdays from 8am – 1pm and in Forest on Fridays from 8am – 1pm from June until Thanksgiving.

Al and Chris’s daughter, Gwen started her own business 4 years ago, and offers a variety of home grown without chemicals, vegetables, grown garlic, some herbs, plants and hot house tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers in season.

The on farm store, open from 10am – 5pm daily in the summer and Tuesday to Saturday during the winter, is located behind the farm house. Up the laneway and to west, our on farm store offers a variety of products, produce and frozen meats. We will special order cuts for customers and try to meet most requests. All of our beef is corn finished, and with no added hormones or chemicals, it has great flavour. Our pork is grown on our farm only for the farm store and chickens are raised to slow roasted for the great old fashioned taste. We make our Maple Syrup in the spring and invite you to visit!

The Corn Maze was added in 2008 - a new on farm value added operation. It is still growing and as it changes its annual view, you can have fun travelling through it!

So, we welcome you to visit the farm, take some time in the maze, have your picture taken with our “Corny Cob Family” and see our farm animals or just come in to the store.
